Black River Gorges National Park
The place is a unique highland area which is situated at southwest end of Curepipe, its very much different from the rest of other islands spots. The national park is at the distance of approximately 6 km from Curepipe. This is only one of its kind mountainous road from Mauritius which is reached through the wall of the National park’s large reservoir. The park is mainly marked by coniferous and casuarinas trees. The park has greater alpine wilderness compared to the paradise islands.

Rodrigues Island
This island is famous for its volcanic eruptions, the island is around 18 km longer and around 8 km wider. The island can be termed as a mini version of Mauritius. The island has in its surroundings coral reefs which are truly special and the area is covered by vegetation and landscaped areas. The island has an equivalent tropical climate, there is a lush green vegetation here. There are lesser amount of tourist in this area so it’s a good chance for you to go here and enjoy your own surroundings and delve into the inner peace.

Life here seems to walking slowly, taking its own time. The people here are friendly and more than willing to help and talk to you even if you don’t know them. The place is more prone to cyclones in the region. The last cyclone which hit the area was Cyclone Bella which hit the island in early 1991, the winds that time here were in excess of 125mph.
