Surat, the city of diamonds as they say. But its true to its nature. All major diamond traders around India trade with merchants here in Surat. The city boosts most of all Gujaratis and is the main commercial hub for diamond traders. Its called as the South Gujarat which was once a major western ports. In the late 17th and 18th century there were European settlements here. The place is situated along the banks of river Tapti, Surat is also famous for its silk weaves Tanchoi and Gajee saree. Although a small town but has trades happening across the globe for its rich cultural tactics of cloth weaving and ancient arts and designs.

Climate of Surat: The climate of surat is tropical in nature and it gets full rainfall during monsoons. The monsoons here are very fun filled and exciting with greenery everywhere and enchanting climate. The temperature during summers is 42 degrees maximum and 12 degrees minimum during winters.

Attractions of Surat:
» Dumas & Hajira. Dumas is situated at 16 kms from Surat and Hajira is approximate 28 kms from Surat. These are the best known health resorts here built on the creek of  Arabian sea. Hajira is 2 water wells righ in Iron and Sulphur.

» Vansada National Park. The place is located near Valsad district, you can find here varieties of animals like leopards, panthers, tigers wild boars. The place is visited by locales as well as tourists, the best time to go there is during October to March.

» Beaches.
As Gujarat is situated at the coastline of Arabian sea, it has many beaches to be visited while your visit to Gujarat. There is Dumas resort just 16 km away from Surat which boosts of world famous health treatments. The station of daman where there were early parsi settlements, is also visited by tourists. The twin towns of Diu and Daman have their own unique peculiarities. People visit both the place due to its connectivity.

» By Air - the Surat Airport has been opened just recently and as for now it has one flight daily from Delhi.

» By Rail -
Surat is well connected to all the major national railway system connecting it to Mumbai and also to south, even connecting it to Delhi.

» By Road - Surat has local bus service and there are various private companies offering the service to all the major cities of India.
