Indore
Indore derives its name from the 18th century Indreshwar temple. The city is situated on the banks of the rivers Sarasvati and Khan and is the largest in Madhya Pradesh. Indore was planned and built by Rani Ahilyabai Holker. It is naturally endowed with a beautiful landscape and salubrious climate. There are numerous monuments associated with the Holkars in the city. Indore is a great industrial centre and has the look of a boom town.

Getting to Indore :
» By Air - Jet Airways and Indian Airlines operate daily flights from Delhi and Mumbai to Indore. Air Deccan also operates daily flights from Gwalior and Delhi. Now, Kingfisher Airlines has also started its daily flights (23-Apr-2007) from Mumbai.

» By Rail - Avantika express runs between Indore and Mumbai on a daily basis. Same way, there are Intercity express and Malwa Express which runs daily between Delhi and Indore. There are other trains running daily between Indore-Bhopal and other stations. Also there is Kshipra express which runs between Indore and Howrah (Kolkata).

» By Road - The national Highway (Bombay-Agra Road NH3) passes through Indore and there are daily bus services from Indore to Bombay, Jaipur, Gwalior, Bhopal etc.
