Ahmedabad, one of the largest cities of Gujarat was once the capital of Gujarat. This city was found by Ahmad Shah in the year 1411 AD. Ahmedabad is located on the left bank of the river Sabarmati. Ahemdabad has some of the greatest historical monuments and architecture to be seen. It has main archaeological importance from the point of environmentalist as well geologist because of its ancient history. The mind boggling architecture is really elegant showing you the blend of Muslim and Hindu Mosque and Mausoleums. It is great textile hub for the people who are in cloth market through out India. Many of the industries are into major exports to many a European countries. It has slowly grown from small village like area to a big commercial hub.

Climate of Ahmedabad :
Ahmedabad has more of hot like climatic conditions although its very cold chilling winters. Its more of hot like place. The temperature here during summers range from 43 to 47 degress which is very hot. For tourists, it is advisable not to visit during summer until mid june when it has started raining. Once its raining its truly a fun filled place. During rains, if you visit any part of the city you would be welcomed by nicely boiled or roasted corn dish on the roadside stalls which are really mouth-watering and simply suits the environment. You would also be welcomed by Gujarati dish which is made of rice flour named “Khichhu” it tastes simply amazing if taken with nicely mixed oil. Ahmedabad

The place has full enthusiasm during major festivals may it be Rakhshabandhan, diwali, or Janmastami. All the Indian festivals are celebrated here with full zest and energy. The place is in its best form during winters although raining summers are also a great experience with fresh smell of wet sand and open farms with thrilling chilling air brushing your cheeks.

Attractions of Ahmedabad :
» Gandhi Aashram
The place is world famous for it was the place where Mahatma Gandhi resided after coming back from South Africa. This place is situated near Vadaj. Its also called as Sabarmati Aashram. The ashram was built in 1915 to house dalits from various parts of India. Gandhi believed in oneness and so he never differentiated a Brahmin from a Dalit. All were same to him under this roof. It stands near the running sabarmati river. All satyagrahis of Mahatma movement housed here. The famous dandi march by Gandhi in the year 1930 was started from this place which was to protest against the salt act imposed by the British Raj. The ashram does many activities up till date which were started by Gandhi himself. The activities include, handmade paper factory, handicrafts centre, spinning wheel factory to make cloth.

» Sidi Sayed Mosque
Sidi Sayed Mosque is one of its type Mosque which has some of the best exquisite screens, which are truly eye catching for their amazing Jhali screen  which are nicely framed inside semi-circular windows.

» Bhadra Fort,
The fort is very charming with its own well developed gardens and royal palaces. It has BhadraKali temple inside the fort which was built in the year 1411 during the reigns Maratha rule.

» Akshardham Temple
Is world famous, with various same of its kind monuments in many foreign countries.  Its about 20 kilometers from Ahmedabad.

» Science City, The newly built place is the most rocking and happening place in the city.

» Vaishnodevi Temple, This is mini Vaishnodevi, the place is truly a replica of famous vaishnodevi temple.

Getting to Ahmedabad :

» By Air - The ahemdabad airport is located at a distance of 15 km from the main city centre. The place is truly growing and happening with major international brands stationed here. The government is under the process of expanding its international airport space for increasing the space and make more international flights.

Ahmedabad is very well connected to Mumbai its around 500 km. the railways are major connected to important destinations of India.
